AKLAS: The Dubai Experience

A month before flying to Japan for 052 Rap Battle League's Aikodesho, AKLAS was invited for a concert to Dubai. He flew with fellow rapper, Zaito, after being invited by Lea Productions, through Mr. Mhandy Lorenzo, who initiated contacting us. This was also his first time to travel in the Middle East and surely, Dubai offered him an experience he will never forget. Let's checkout photos from his trip.

The event was organized by Lea Productions, spearheaded by Mhandy Lorenzo who coordinated with us in bringing AKLAS over to Dubai.

According to AKLAS, the international airport in Dubai was huge and flocked by people of different nationalities. The line towards the immigration was also longer than he expected. Nevertheless, the flow was smooth and they got out in time with the event organizers waiting for them outside the arrival gates.

The event was held in President Hotel and was participated by Pinoys all over Dubai. To show their full support, Philip's friends based in Dubai also came. Among others, Capthieves' owner, Nath Clemente came in with his gang to watch AKLAS perform.

The two were also taken to a mall to shop for treats. AKLAS described the Dubai mall to be like no other. Inside, he saw a giant aquarium with live sharks. He was also informed you can take a dive and actually swims with the sharks inside. Camels were also inside the mall should tourists want to take pictures.

So what's AKLAS doing inside Sephora, a makeup store? He got me all cosmetics I needed <3 :D

Aside from having to perform and meet up with his old friends from the Philippines, AKLAS was also fortunate to having met brothers Rjay and Shaolin Javier and the rest of their group. This is when the initial shoot of AKLAS' Kalaban music video was conceptualized by the Javiers and made into a reality. Currently, the project is almost on to its final touches assuring fans and viewers alike for a genius music video set to make you think about what MVs ought to appear.
