Willan Rivera reveals SPOILER, biblical messages part of Loonie's "Balewala" MV

Loonie’s latest offering “Balewala” has been making a huge impact on social media platforms, stretching not only nationwide but across a bigger international audience.

Personally, the song has an imprinted a distinct mark to those who have deeper understanding of what it truly means. To some, it is simply an encouragement song. But to us, it is more to just being encouraged. It is actually finding the meaning of life, meeting the day's ends and seeing beauty amid the struggles and finally resurfacing from the deep abyss that has once caught us and fettered our feet.

Blow after blow, “Balewala” was first launched as a lyric video which made people understand its meaning. Second, a meeting was held between director/screenwriter genius Willan Rivera, Loonie and Aklas, sometime in October 2015. When the photo of the three having talks was posted online, people were speculating and very much eager what’s it all about—indeed something BIG was brewing! Artifice Records’ main man, Josef Amarra, who was also “Balewala’s” executive producer, also played a big part in the realization of the plan.

Cameras started rolling after a year of careful planning. When Loonie announced that “Balewala” was already set for shooting with updates from Director Rivera regularly posted on his official Facebook account, people went crazy asking same questions and giving same remarks repeatedly—WHEN WILL THIS AIR? WHEN DO WE SEE THIS? THIS IS GOING TO BE SPECTACULAR! WE CAN’T WAIT FOR THE RELEASE!

The next big thing revealed was in January 25th when the official poster for “Balewala” was posted in Facebook. This caused bigger uproar of fans ready to hit the replay button the moment the official music video was released. BUT! Hold your horses people! 

On January 28th, three days after the poster release, was the---------TEASER! Mixed emotions from eager eyes were revealed on social media comments inquiring the exact release date! Seriously, I asked the same questions too!

You can’t blame fans and spectators alike ‘tho. I mean, having the Philippines top rapper Loonie and the best of the best directors, Willan Rivera, working on a project would totally mean a cutting edge in the ordinary, always-the-same, perspective of watching a music video. 

Not to mention the powerhouse cast who were carefully selected to play each role in the MV including Kiko Matos, Vic Romano, China Roces, Basti Batistis among others.

Marsi Maarfi Dimitrov, Poko Ditablan, Richmond Pampolme and Luis Gabriel Cerda were also part of the cast.

Aklas also played a very surprising role in this music video with prosthetics carefully designed to superior quality by CreatureShop Prosthetics SFX Co. Meanwhile, Mae Dizon graced the backup vocals for the said single and yes! Beatmaker Klumcee who did the beats for “Balewala” is also a part of the music video cast.

Don’t wonder anymore why Director Willan Rivera’s latest work will indeed open 2017 by storm. Bet your money on it! This spectacular offer, (I call it movie-like music video) will once again garner awards in different citation giving bodies which has already recognized Rivera’s previous masterpieces!

On the other side of the story, did you know that the official music video of "Balewala" actually has hidden messages? The subliminals in this offering will get your mind boggled as you will never expect what hit you the moment you decipher the meanings! Biblical messages are actually part of the ingenious concept of the video. These were drawn from the Books of Peter and John, as according to Director Willan Rivera. What got me blown away was that messages from the Book of Revelation were also carefully drawn to be part of the stunning concept of “Balewala.”
