9/11 AKLAS VS. ALL ARTIST INSIGHT: DROID

A cybernetic alien in a human fluffy suit, he is influenced by Hip Hop at a young age listening his first rap to Vanila Ice's "Ninja Rap" from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Movie back in the 90s and MC Hammer.

One time in his life he watched the 1998 MTV Music Awards and behold, Beastie Boys with Mix Master Mike performed Intergalactic. It was then that Droid got hooked on what Mix Master Mike doing on those turntables. At the same day he got frustrated since no one knows where to buy turntables and mixers during the 90s (there was no internet back then).

Between 2000 - 2015 he joined a few bands and released an EP for Helen Sky back in 2011, at the same time composing some songs with his other band, S26.

Fast forward to 2016, where he once again faced his first desire, Norris King went to his hometown, bringing some irie sunday vibes, awakening his first love, to be a DJ.

Together with Jedd-I and Jah Sep, they formed Sakada Sound System and playing some reggae vibe in different occasions. Aero asked him to be his DJ for some events, meeting Aklas for the first time. After a few years Jedd introduced Droid to Aklas to be his DJ. By then, they did some local shows in different places in the region. Then, that got Droid a plane ticket to the Aklasan Luzon Tour 2018 with J. Blaze and our official media Arnie, and the rest is history.
