PSP: AKLAS VS. INVICTUS PREVIEW INSIGHT

So we've been away for quite some time. This is our first blog entry for the new year. Surprisingly, a turn of events has brought our blog spot to be up and running again. Thanks to Pangil sa Pangil, a new spark of hiphop insights will be brewing throughout the year.

February 3, 2024 in Cebu will mark the kickstart of PSP's Matira Mayaman Tournament. Seasoned battle rappers will be up against each other in the hopes of bagging the one million grand prize. 

In this article, let me share to you my unbiased insight re: Aklas vs. Invictus, straight from the editor's desk.

Rap battle fans have always seen Aklas out of the ordinary. Multiple rap battle reviews have also pointed out on Aklas' unorthodox style, stage presence and his entire charisma as the game changer in every battle that he's done, causing chokes on some notable artists' including Sinio and BLKD. In turn, this has had AKLAS covet the first Fliptop, (another rap battle league in the Philippines), Isabuhay Champion title in 2013.

On the other hand, Invictus has been widely known for his seamless delivery, word play, line construction and his choice of jargons. It is also undeniable that we hear a resemblance of Sayadd in him with a mix of BLKD wit. A well deserved win was garnered when Invictus became the recent Isabuhay Champion. Certainly, never underrated, just pure hard work and skills, combined!

Needless to say, AKLAS vs. Invictus in the PSP battle ground is not only a face off between two clash of styles. It is also a showdown between two rap battle league champions, each, a decade apart. 

As we know, what is normal to a spider will ultimately bring chaos to a fly.
