Willan Rivera rolls camera for Loonie's MV Balewala; Fans brace for game-changing impacts

Filipino independent and award-winning film and music director Willan Rivera has finally set the cameras rolling last October 11. This was the first shooting day for Loonie's latest music video "Balewala" held in Binangonan, Rizal.

Fans expect the latest music video to have even bigger game-changing impacts comparable to that of the other works from the enthusiastic director. Rivera, who is known for his unconventional directing styles and his "decipher the deeper of what i mean" concepts, has been awarded the 2016 MYX Best Music Video for "Cereberus" and has caught the attention of Aliw Awards for his remarkable work directing the music video for "Laman-loob."

It is not a wonder why fans are bracing for major impacts after Direk Willan, as fondly called by his stars, has been setting new standards when it comes to making premiere and high quality music videos.

In  an article written by Wave Music PH, they were able to give the gist of the "Balewala" music video. Wave Music PH through an interview with the Director wrote, "Rivera explained that he used the symbol of a loving father and fisherman who is working hard to bring food for his family. Despite doing what he can, the jealousy of his neighbors has started to affect his life. Daily survival becomes a challenge because of limited mindset that his neighbors have. But this doe not stop him from achieving greatness."

Meanwhile, from the look of the music video's cast, Rivera indeed made it clear he only works with the chosen few. This was after taking it to social media platform Facebook the common mistakes most filmmakers commit, citing poor casting choices on his 4th list. The powerful cast for "Balewala" includes Vic Romano, Kiko Matos, Basty Batistis, China Roces and Aklas who were carefully selected to perfectly fit the roles they were assigned to portray. Artifice Records, once again, is the executive producer for this much-awaited music video along with CLIPS.

On the other hand, Filipino multi-talented and most viewed rapper Loonie has made it clear what this song is all about. It is mainly centered in overcoming life's obstacles by being mentally prepared. With a tandem as powerful as Direk Willan and Loonie plus the powerhouse cast of the "Balewala" music video, we are all but waiting for the its release date.
